Acer announces Gateway and eMachines brands of PCs in India

Acer India has announced the launch of two new PC brands, called the Gateway and eMachines, in the country and they are targeted at distinct segments.
Intended for a premium segment of the market, the Gateway series comprises of Netbook L30, All-in-One ZX 2301, Notebook NV44, Notebook NV48 and Notebook NV58.
The eMachines range of PCs, which are designed for the core value customers, consists of eMachines D525, eMachines D725 and eMachines EL1600 Nettop.

SanDisk pSSD P2 and S2 SSDs for netbooks

SanDisk had affirmed that they have started shipping their solid state drives dubbed SanDisk pSSD P2 and S2. These flash memory based SSDs have been designed specifically for netbooks. The SSDs incorporate the nCache technology which claims to improve the performance of the netbooks.
This nCache technology is a non-volatile cache. It is capable of enhancing user performance by supporting burst performance up to five times the normal steady state vRPM. This technology improves the responsiveness of the drive and prevents stalling or shuddering of SSDs. The P2 and S2 drives both offer 9,000 vRPM along with the ncache technology.

Altera expands its Stratix IV GT FPGAs product line by introducing EP4S40G5 and EP4S100G5 high density and system-bandwidth FPGA to meet the demands of bandwidth-heavy applications. These semiconductor devices come with 11.3-Gbps transceivers and 530K logic elements (LEs).

One more update on the ongoing rumors about the Sony PSP Go has hit the web terrain. A few hours before the E3 2009 commencement, official press shots along with specifications of the much-rumored handheld gaming console - which is termed as the Sony PSP Go – got leaked.

LG Opera TV and HQ handsets introduced for AT&T?

One of the largest network providers in the U.S. seems to be on Cloud No. 9 with the entry of a repertoire of mobile phones to its catalog. Report from Electronista states that AT&T is apparently enhancing its mobile phone zone by adding two more high-end mobile phones from LG, namely the Opera TV and the GW600 HQ.
The Opera TV is assumed to be in the similar lines of LG Arena. We were sent the Brain Fit iPhone and iPod Touch app by Mobirate for a quick review last week. Brain Fit is an addictive little puzzle game app which has been designed to provide endless hours of fun. Released just earlier this month, Brain Fit costs $0.99.
When we were first given the app name “Brain Fit”, it immediately came across my mind as a game that was played by getting our “non-thinking”, geeky minds thinking once again with timed calculations, complicated maths, as well as recalling shapes and numbers (like that on the Nintendo DS). The latest Sims 3 video game 2009 has been leaked online on numerous torrent websites today. Just two weeks before its meant to be officially released, the group responsible for the leak is believed to be RELOADED. However, The Sims 3 in question and available online the moment we speak is approximately 5GB, which is smaller than the actual game to be released. It maybe an unfinished version of The Sims 3 life simulation game, but the torrent description has claimed it to be the complete full version.
The official release date for The Sims 3 will be on the 5th of June in Europe, though EA hasn’t commented on whether it will be affected by the leak.

Sony has announced the development of its super tiny penny-like high definition (HD) camera module. Already now entering mass production, the latest in digital technology MCB1172 8.3-megapixel camera module is astonishingly small, smaller than a £1 coin measuring in at just 9.5 x 7.1 mm. Likely to turn up in a range of products later this year, the potential for Sony’s future products to have HD recording capability is overwhelming.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 Leaked

An anonymous tipster has sent engadget an image of the unannounced Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 (codename Vulcan) mobile phone, replacing the XPERIA X1. As you can see, the X2 will have a large display, a front camera and QWERTY keyboard. It’s likely the phone will run Windows Mobile 6.5.

Team Group Combo Pro 500GB SSD

Team Group adds to its Combo Pro series SSD the 500GB model. Basically, the Combo Pro SSD mounts two 2.5-inch 250GB SSDs in RAID 0 configuration and put them into a single case. The SSD is based on MLC flash memory and uses SATA II interface. It offers 230MB/s read and 160MB/s write speeds.

Sony intros PS3 Motion Controller (Video)

Sony, seeing the success of Nintendo’s Wii, introduces Motion Controller for its PlayStation 3. The new Motion Controller works in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye, which will capture movements of the motion controller for “true one-to-one tracking.”
