Next-gen iPhone

Last month JP Morgan suggested that Apple will announce two new iPhones. Al Gore, a member of the board of directors at Apple confirmed that shortly after.
Plus at this point the announcement of the iPhone 4S seems guaranteed. Earlier today it was spotted on the Vodafone Germany website and that’s as good a confirmation as we can get before the actual launch. The device, carrying a model number “N90A” (N90 is the model number of the iPhone 4 GSM version), will look identical to the current iPhone 4, but will be offering three storage options (16/32/64GB), rather than just two as the current iPhone.
There’s also good reason to believe that the iPhone 4S will be packing refreshed hardware under the hood. Apple’s A5 chip used in the iPad 2 is believed to be powering both the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5. The amount of RAM on both devices is expected to be 1GB – double what the iPhone 4 offers.
The iPhone 5, however, will be boasting a new, thinner body and a larger, possibly 4″ screenwith the same crisp Retina resolution. The update from the current 3.5-inch Retina Display means that the phone could get a bit wider and taller, as some leaked cases for next-gen iPhone 5 suggest.
Of course rumors covered some other stuff – like LTE and NFC connectivity, but those seem unlikely at this point. Plus with the announcement event coming in under 24 hours there’s little point to continue with the guessing. Just make sure you tune in here tomorrow at 10AM PDT and we’ll make sure you find out everything there is to know about the new iPhone.

Nokia WP7- Sea Ray, Sabre and Ace

With Nokia World just around the corner (October 26-27), rumors about the long sought-after WP7-smartphones of the Finns are starting to intensify. Today we got a particularly juicy bit of online gossip, which claims to reveal the specs of the first three Nokia WP7 smartphones.

Nokia Ace

The most interesting of the bunch is codenamed Nokia Ace and will, reportedly, come with a 4.3" ClearBlack AMOLED, 1.4GHz CPU and 16GB of internal storage. The Ace will also features an 8MP autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss-certified lens, HSPA+ connectivity and an ample 1800 mAh battery.
It's yet unclear if this one will run on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, or a later edition of the OS.

Nokia Sea Ray

Then comes the Nokia Sea Ray, which leaked several times before. Its ClearBlack AMOLED will measure 3.7" in diagonal and its CPU will be clocked at 1.4GHz. 16GB of storage will have cover for your multimedia needs, while the 8MP Carl Zeiss camera should let you take pretty great photos.
The Nokia Sea Ray will be powered by a 1540 mAh battery and will run on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

Nokia Sabre

Finally, we have the Nokia Sabre - a Mango-running smartphone that will have interchangeable back covers for easy personalization. It will pack yet another 1.4GHz CPU, but its autofocus camera will only do 5 megapixel stills. The 3.7" screen will be downgraded to LCD.
The Nokia Sabre internal storage of 8GB doesn't sound like much, but since Windows Phone smartphones have access to 25GB of free cloud storage, it will probably suffice.
We don't know yet how many of the new Windows Phone devices will be unveiled at Nokia world. Initially, it was believed that it will be just the Sea Ray, while more recent rumors suggest that at least two WP smartphones will be announced with the Sabre the most likely candidate to join the party.
Of course, there's also an outside chance that Nokia will be releasing all three of those in time for the holiday season, but at this stage that doesn't seem likely.

Vodafone-iPhone 4S 64GB

So that's the iPhone 4S officially confirmed, then! The news was brought by no other but Vodafone Germany, who obviously got a bit overenthusiastic and added the iPhone 4S to the compatibility list of the Apple bumper listing on their website.
A few very interesting things came out from this listing. First, the iPhone 4S will be coming in both white and black, which was quite expected. What's more important though is that it will have the same design and dimensions as the iPhone 4, as it will obviously use the same bumpers. One can't help, but wonder if they fixed the death grip issues.
The listing also mentions 64GB of storage, which will be a first for the iPhone. Previously, iPhone storage options only went as high as 32GB, but you will be able to get twice that with the iPhone 4S.
The final bit of info that we found on that page concerns the current iPhone. The iPhone 4 will obviously follow the 3GS footsteps and will be relegated to the mid-range in an 8GB flavor. That one will be available in both black and white colors, so those hoping to get a white iPhone 4 on the cheap will get their chance now.
A hat tip to Shubham for sending this in.
