HTC Pico - Explorer

We already got a sneak peak of the HTC Pico thanks to a leaked spy shot and detailed specs. Today, we stumbled upon more important information about the upcoming Android smartphone.

Reportedly, the HTC Pico is going to be known as HTC Explorer when it hits the shelves. As we already knew, it will be a mid-range smartphone and will most probably slide just above the HTC Wildfire S in the company portfolio. It has similar specs to the Wildfire S - a 3.2-inch HVGA display, a 600MHz processor (Qualcomm MSM7227 platform with Adreno 200 GPU), 384MB RAM, a 5 megapixel snapper and the usual well-geared connectivity.
The HTC Explorer, however, is the only one of the couple to offer the latest HTC Sense UI 3.5 on top of its Android Gingerbread OS.
HTC is holding an event today in a few hours so we might see the Explorer announced there. If it misses on that train the Explorer will most probably be unveiled at the other upcoming HTC event - in London on October 6th.

Could this be the Nexus Prime ?

A tipster sent us something interesting - supposedly a size comparison between the Nexus Prime and the Samsung Galaxy S II. Now, the photo is taken in such a way that there's no way to say for sure that it's really the Prime, but then again rumors are rarely certain.
A lot of sources, including an industry insider that contacted us, state that the Nexus Prime has a 4.65" display, bigger than the 4.3" screen of the Galaxy S II. Also, the screen res is reportedly 720p, which gives it a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the 15:9 ratio of the S II screen, so you'd expect the phone to be about the same size but slightly longer.
Which is exactly what we see in the photo. Also, we've heard that the display on the Nexus Prime is curved (just like the Nexus S), so we wouldn’t be surprised if the top and bottom are rounded the same way. Mind you, the Nexus S is slightly shorter than the Galaxy S II, so that's not it in the photo.

Of course, there's a big chance that this photo doesn’t show the Nexus Prime at all - just take it with a pinch of salt and wait until October, when the Nexus Prime should launch according to the majority of rumors.

LG LU6200 see its HD screen

It was only a few days ago when the first pictures of the LG LU6200 emerged, causing a stir in our geeky hearts. Today, we have live shots of the device for you and, finally, we get to see its HD screen in its full glory.

The AH-IPS LCD display with HD (720 x 1280) resolution, featured in the upcoming LG flagship has already made quite a splash by winning a prestigious award. There is absolutely no doubt that it will be the droid's biggest highlight.
