If you are considering getting a netbook anytime soon then by all means take a moment to check this out. Today ASUS announced that their latest EeePC, 1015PN has hit the shelves. The 10″ device sounds like very much the device to get if you are into something extra portable yet nice performing.
ASUS EeePC 1015PN comes with a dual core Intel Atom N550 CPU, clocked at 1.5 GHz. 
The Nvidia ION2 dedicated graphics with 512MB of its own memory makes sure 1080p playback is a breeze, while the HDMI and VGA ports allow you to turn the 1015PN into a home multimedia center. The Optimus technology seamlessly toggles between the on-board graphics and Nvidia ION2 depending on the performance needs.
Three USB ports, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n complete the device connectivity tally.
The 6-cell battery is good to last for 9.5 hours, which is quite impressive considering the hardware. There’s 1GB of DDR3 RAM on board (upgradeable to 2GB) and a 250 GB hard drive. You will also be getting access to 500GB of web storage for a year for no extra fees.
All this goodness weighs just 1.25 kg and costs south of 500 dollars at launch. Sweet, uh? Can’t wait for 1215N to launch too.
All devices running thAndroid 2.1 or higher can now taste the first beta version of the Winamp app.
The YP-G50 Galaxy Player was announced back at IFA 2010, but there was no release date mentioned. It seems Samsung is ready to rival the iPods Touch because it’s shipping the first batch of YP-G50 Android-based players as we speak (at least in France, that is).
There is a tradition going that when a hot piece of hardware is released the guys from ifixit tear it down and show whatever secrets lie inside. And there was just no way the 11.6” MacBook Air would avoid this as it is certainly one of the sweetest devices of the season.
The ultra-portable walked away with a repairability rating of 4 (out of 10), which suggests that you better not try to fix this at home.

Well, here’s something curious that popped into our email inbox – the OTECH F1. You might want to sit down for this – it has four SIM cars. Yep – four, 4, f-o-u-r. But wait, there’s more! All four cards are active all the time, not just one or two…
This is getting ridiculous – safety-razor level of ridiculous. It started of with one razor blade, uh sorry, SIM card, then came dual-SIM, then triple SIM and now this. Check the photos below – 4 SIM cards, 4 signal strength indicators and little use for such a thing.
The reason why many people still prefer Mozzila’s Firefox over Chrome or Opera is the huge variety of add-ons that ad or change features on the browser. Google has already launched the Chrome’s extensions, but it’s just today that Opera adopts the long awaited in-browser apps.

It’s been quite busy in the Apple camp – the focus is again shifting towards computers. And as usual, usually gets interesting when Steve Jobs gets on stage. Anyway, I’m not going to recap last night’s “Back to the Mac” event. Instead, I’ll offer you a quick recap of the highlights as I see them.
Perhaps the most important announcement is the new generation of MacBook Air. Available in two flavors – with a 11.6 and a 13.6-inch screens – the new MBAs are thinner and lighter than ever. That’s been made possible by doing away with the hard drive altogether.

HTC and TomTom have teamed up to provide navigation software on HTC’s smartphones. The HTC Desire HD and Desire Z will be the first beneficiaries of this duo – they will come preloaded with TomTom maps out-of-the-box.
