URC rolls out MX-5000 haptic touchscreen remote

Universal Remote Control uncovers its latest remote model which appears to be the first universal remote control with haptic feedback. Named as the MX-5000, this universal remote is based around the same technology as that of the MX-6000 except with a more conventional form factor.

The official product page reveals that the remote includes IR control in a roughly 30 to 50 feet range and macro support with up to 255 steps per macro. For even more complex programs users can also nest multiple macros. It has a 2.7-inch LCD color touchscreen that can be set up using URC’s Complete Control Program. It supports RS-232 system integration.

Point of View has recently released its latest Mobii Ion 230 netbook. The netbook is based on Nvidia’s Ion platform.

The Ion based netbook is packaged with Atom 230 1.6 GHz CPU, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 160GB HDD. As the name suggests, the device would feature Nvidia ION MCP7A chipset. It incorporates Nvidia ION GPU graphics chipset. It offers a 10.2” LCD that offers the usual netbook resolution of 1,024×600.

Samsung to mass produce 40nm DDR3 RAM

Samsung DDR3 RAM Samsung has launched their 2-gigabit or 256MB DDR3 RAM chip. According to Slashgear, this is the first chip to be mass produced using Samsung’s 40nm process.

This smaller and higher density technology allows the company to produce denser memory chips. Moreover, this production process refrains from increasing the power consumption or cost of the chip.
