Intel unveils RS2BL080 RAID controller with SAS support

Intel RS2BL080 RAID Controller

Intel has announced its latest RAID controller dubbed RS2BL080. This controller is capable of directly controlling both SAS and SATA hard drives. The controller provides support for both 6Gbps and 3Gbps interfaces.

The RS2BL080 is a half-height card that supports RAID 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for mirroring, parity, double-parity and striping. The Intel Controller is capable of controlling up to 32 drives with the help of the SAS expanders.

This controller can also support an optional Intel RAID Smart Battery, termed AXXRSBBU3. This battery protects the cached data incase of server or power failure. The Intel RS2BL080 connects via a PCIe x8 card slot and offers support for Self-Encrypting Drive (SED).

Super Talent unveils 32GB Pico USB drives

Super Talent Pico USB Super Talent has come up with two new additions to the Pico Series, the Pico C and Pico E USB drives. The Pico C offers nickel finishing while the Pico E is offered with gold finish and are water resistant.
