Apart from the iPhone 3G S and iPhone 3.0 which were showcased at the WWDC yesterday, there is also now a new MacBook Pro lineup. Aluminum unibody as you will probably have guessed, the MacBook Pro family will include 13-inch, 15-inch and 17 inch.

Improved features include 40% extended battery life, thanks to their lithium polymer built-in battery technology that can gest out a minimum of seven hours of work on a single charge. LED backlit displays will give better colour, multi-touch trackpad, an illuminated keyboard and guess what a new SD card (13 and 15-inch) or ExpressCard slot (17-inch), FireWire 800 port and new NVIDIA graphics display.

If you were following us with the WWDC live yesterday you will notice not much was mentioned about this. That’s because internet tethering with the iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 3G S will ultimately vary according to the network provider in your country. For those not so familiar with what internet tethering is, it basically lets your laptop / netbook / computer use the internet via the iPhone’s 3G connectivity.

iPhone 3G S, that’s the name of the new 2009 iPhone we’ve all been looking forward to. S stands for Speed! If you weren’t following us with the live blogging of the WWDC 2009, Phil Schiller has now officially announced the latest iPhone. While having said that the iPhone 3G will still remain on the market, its hoped that the iPhone 3G S will become the most popular camera and video mobile phone to come.

So what will be the specs and features? Many of which were already known through rumors in fact. To be released in black and white, the latest iPhone 3GS will be equipped with a three megapixel camera with autofocus, touch focus, no flash. 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, voice control is a new one, video recording / video camera will also boast editing function. Performance as you would imagine has been much improved with this new iPhone, battery life has also been given a massive boost, with video playback for example now supported for up to ten hours and talk time up to 12 hours on 2G. Also as rumored was a built in compass function, the new iPhone 3GS will of course arrive with iPhone 3.0.

iPhone 3.0 will officially be available to all on June 17th. It will be free for all iPhone customers to update to, while it will cost $9.95 for iPod touch users.

Update (08062009): We’re blogging the WWDC live now!
This is very exciting news everyone, even before the WWDC gets on the way more images relating to the upcoming iPhone 2009 have leaked. While many have been calling the next generation iPhone, the 2009 iPhone, it seems Apple may have prepared more than was first thought.

The above leaked picture comes from Dutch T-Mobile’s internal network and shows that in addition to black and white versions of the so called “iPhone 2009″ which will have capacities of 16GB and 32GB, there will also be an “iPhone 3G 8GB Black V2″. What this actually means remain a mystery, with the WWDC just hours away, might this be covered at some point this afternoon?

Apple’s love-affair with the multi-touch technology has advanced to the next level by expanding its touch-capability to the iPod categories. After the iPhone, iPod touch and Mac notebooks line-up, now its time to see the iPod nano with the same gesture-based technology on its click-wheel (not a touch-sensitive big screen though).

JVC to release GD-32XI LCD TV in Japan

JVC has announced its 32-inch LCD TV dubbed GD-32XI, reports Crunchgear. This LCD was displayed as a prototype in January this year. The company now announces that the LCD TV will be made available in Japan from August this year. The company claims that the LCD is the world’s thinnest TV.

This HD TV measures 6.4mm in thickness and weighs only 5.7kg. It also boasts of being the lightest LCD screen ever. The display is capable of supporting 1080p high definition video. It features contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and brightness of 400cd/m2.

OCZ has announced the Agility series 2.5 inch SSDs. Based on multi-level cell storage, these solid state drives are faster compared to the traditional drives.

The new architecture and controller design provides faster read and write speed and 64MB of cache. This slim 2.5 inch drive is compatible with notebooks. Being ideal for energy conservation, these drives extend the battery life. The OCZ series also speeds up the access time of your laptop. BenQ plans Android powered smartphone and netbooks

BenQ Logo BenQ has disclosed its plans to launch smartphone and netbooks based on Google’s Android operating system, in 2010. This news was confirmed by the representatives of the company.

This announced by the company has placed it among the many others who are either planning or already developing the devices. The Google Android OS is all set to replace Microsoft Windows in the smartphone and netbook market.

Classic Controller Pro for Nintendo Wii mysteriously appeared at E3

The mystery behind Nintendo’s new controller remains unsolved. A peripheral emerged at the E3 event and the details of the same were nowhere available. Joystiq glimpsed a pair of Classic Controller Pros for the Wii at Nintendo’s E3 booth, according to Engadget. However, there is no announcement by the company as of now.

What acts strange in this report is that the representatives of Nintendo apparently had no idea about the planned release. The company hasn’t mentioned about the accessories on the E3 press site either.

Asus showcases at the Computex 2009 two new Eee Top all-in-one models, the 21.5-inch ET2203T and 20-inch ET2202T.

The Eee Top ET2203T is boosted by Intel’s Core 2 Duo T6500 processor, 4GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD4570 graphics card. You can find a 21.5-inch 1920×1080 HD display, a 320GB hard drive and a Blu-ray optical drive. It supports WiFi 802.11n and HDMI input.

Asus’ ET2202T, instead, sports an Intel Atom 330 dual core processor, 2GB RAM and NVIDIA Ion 9400M graphics. It has a 250GB hard drive and a DVD burner. WiFi 802.11n is also available.

Pioneer launches in the US market three new A/V receivers, VSX-1019AH, VSX-919AH, VSX-819AH. All of them work with iPhone and come with a front USB and cable for connecting iPod, iPod touch and iPhone.

They have a Hybrid (Advanced Direct Energy) power amplifier design and supports digital audio processing of Dolby TrueHD, Digital Plus, Digital EX, Pro Logic IIx, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS 5.1…etc.

Pioneer’s VSX-819AH is a basic model offering 110Wx5 power output. It is based on TI’s Aureus digtal engine. The VSX-1019AH and VSX-919AH are powered by Freescale’s digital engine and include Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS) for Jitterless Transmission from Music CDs. The more advanced VSX-1019AH offers also HDMI 1080p video upscaling.

Victor/JVC introduces in Japan its GD-32X1, a ultra slim 32-inch Full HD LCD display. The monitors is just 6.4mm thin at its thinnest point. It offers 1920×1080 Full HD resolution, 400cd/m2 brightness, 4000:1 contrast ratio and 178-degree viewing angle.

Designed for industry use, JVC GD-32X1 has a RS-232C input, in addition to two HDMI, RGB. It has built-in 5Wx2 speakers, a SD/SDHC card slot and a USB port. It supports JPEG and MP3 playback from SD cards and USB storage devices.
JVC GD-32X1 will be released in late-August.

Vizio intros new XVT-, M- and E-series LCD HDTVs
Vizio announced the new XVT, M- and E series LCD HDTVs. In total, there are 31 new HDTV models in these three product ranges. The new XVT series includes both 1080p models with 120Hz and a Thin Line stylish designs; and a 240Hz SPS models with Smooth Motion technology. This series will be available in 32-inch to 55-inch screen sizes.

Vizio’s M series will come with the JAVA design, 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. The eco E-series will come in 19-inch to 32-inch screen sizes. It will have stylish white or black piano colored bezels and offer 1080p Full HD resolution.
