Samsung Show W7900

Samsung officially unveiled its Show W7900 cell phone that will feature Texas Instruments’ integrated DLP Pico technology. The Show W7900 is also known as the i7410, and will come with the built-in chipset and compact projector which is able to throw an image from the handset to a screen or wall at up to 50″ in size, although don’t expect this to work great outdoors or under bright light conditions as it will probably perform in a similar manner as that of earlier generation projectors.

Features:

  • OLED touchscreen display
  • Flick gestures support
  • 5 megapixel camera
  • Built-in speakers

We do hope Samsung has plans to release a North American version of the i7410 instead of letting the Koreans have all the fun.

Garmin Asus Nuvifone

Forget Eee Phones: Garmin and Asus have created a strategic alliance to design, build and sell co-branded Nuvifones, starting with the original one—now called G60—and moving towards Windows Mobile and Android.

Yes, the delayed Nuvifone is still scheduled to come out in the first half of 2009. There’s no carrier or price announcement yet—Garmin says they are in active negotiations with GSM carriers in North America (so, AT&T and T-Mobile) and in Europe—but now it will be named the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60, and will be the first in a line of Garmin-Asus smartphones. It will be on display and ready for groping at next month’s Mobile World Congress (formerly known as 3GSM).

It also makes it clear that Garmin is done toeing the water of the cellphone business, and is ready to jump in, holding the hand of Asus. The only casualty here is probably going to be the G60. If it were Garmin’s only offering, maybe people who love Garmin would go for it, but now, even those Garmin lovers know that better cooler things are coming—with choices from Windows Mobile and Android. Here’s hoping the G60 is cheap and village-idiot simple.

Viktor Ramos, an architecture student, elaborates a brilliant idea to solve the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Victor’s simple but absolute genius concept shows bridging the Palestinian and Israel territories with huge structures, that can uphold life, house people, and let the people, animals and goods free transit. These bridges will be over each country’s ground so that nobody will become isolated. This project is obviously huge but if it is structurally possible, it will bring a new look of these two county’s geography. These bridges can eliminate many of the demands of the inhabitants of both states by providing the resources they needs.
