Sony Ericsson Nozomi

Sony Ericsson Nozomi

You cannot expect many new product announcements to happen in December as manufacturers are concerned it would hurt the sales of their current crop of devices, but there's no stopping the rumor train.
Today we've got what might be an official photo of the upcoming Sony Ericsson flagship, nicknamed Nozomi. That smartphone, which is expected to come at the MWC in February 2012, is said to feature a12MP camera, 720p screen and, as evident from the render, an impressively slim waistline.
The Nozomi should be the first Sony Ericsson smartphone to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box (though the current Xperia phones should get that too).
Sadly, there's no way to confirm the authenticity of the leaked image, so you'd have to take it with a pinch of salt. They do fall nicely in line with the live photos of the Nozomi that popped up not long ago but for all we know, the render could be created based on these same images.

It's been a good five months since the first time we heard a rumor about a dual-core handset by Sony Ericsson. By the time the Nozomi name popped up in late August, we were seriously anxious to catch a glimpse of the upcoming Android powerhouse.
Well, folks, here it is - after months of expectation, we have the first live shots of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Nozomi LT26i out in the wild and, boy, it looks like it has been well worth the long wait.

In terms of specs, not much is known at the moment. The smartphone is rumored to pack a dual--core CPU, clocked at 1.5GHz and a gig of RAM. The device's 4.3" screen is bound to be a thing of beauty with its 1280x720 pixels resolution. We still don't know the capability of the camera units of the Nozomi.
As you can notice in the pictures above, the device in the leaked shots is running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Given the phone's design however (the hardware buttons can be barely seen on the device), don't be surprised if you see it ship with Ice Cream Sandwich on board.

There's a 2MP camera and an FM radio receiver, an FM transmitter and a 3.5mm audio jack onboard the Nokia X2-02. The microSD card slot allows you to expand the storage by up to 32GB, so you can have all the space you need for your music collection. A microUSB port enables easy transferring of said collection.
The Nokia X2-02 lacks 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, so you're stuck with EDGE if you want to browse the web on this one.
The Nokia X2-02 is expected to cost around €60 before taxes and subsides, but there's no information about its availability just yet.
