HTC Incredible Survives A Fire

It looks like there's a good reason the HTC Incredible isconstantly out of stock. HTC has created one of the toughest smartphones out there. Phandroid reports that an Android forums user was at a bonfire one night. Somehow (I suspect intoxication was involved) the phone fell into their fire pit. It emerged horribly scarred.
However, the damage appeared to be wholly cosmetic. The phone turned on and continued to work with no reported issues whatsoever. Basically, all the fire did was give him an extremely unique case-mod.

Steve Jobs ''Relax'' iPhone 4 Conversation Faked

Good news, everyone; Steve Jobs is not quite as callous and out-of-touch as recent rumors may have lead you to believe. In the wake of the iPhone 4 reception debacle an email conversation between Jobs and a customer named Tom popped up. Tom complained to Jobs about the phone's myriad issues, and Jobs supposedly responded with dismissive statements like;
"No, you are getting all worked up over a few days of rumors. Calm down."

Motorola Quench XT3 & XT5 Hit FCC

Moto has a pair of new handsets on the way. The Quench XT3 and XT5 have just hit the FCC (via Engadget). The back panel is the only thing visible, but so far it looks extremely close to the Cliq XT (the current Quench).

T-Mobile Kills Sidekick, Promises Replacement

A new Sidekick could be imminent, following the grisly demise of the current generation. T-Mo News reports that their patron carrier has killed the Sidekick and ceased all sales of the Sidekick LX and 2008. In order to salve wounded Sidekick owners, T-Mobile promised that they intend to, "further innovate and raise the bar for the next iteration of the T-Mobile Sidekick."

Samsung Supersonic / Motorola Charm Pricing Leaks

The Samsung Supersonic and Motorola Charm have just shown up on a leaked pricing sheet. T-Mo News reports that the Charm will launch with Android 2.1 and the MotoBlur UI for $269 retail or $74.99 with a 2-year contract after a $75 rebate. Even with that rebate, the Charm looks like a pretty good deal.

New LG App Store opens for Smartphones

LG Electronics today announced the opening of an all-new LG Application Store, with more than 3,000 applications for both feature phones and smartphones in 33 countries.
LG is now ready to offer customers a wide range of fun and useful apps including exciting games like The SIMS 3, Asphalt 4 and popular applications from SPB Series, for its mid- to high-end feature phones and smartphones. Android applications will be also available at LG's store later this year.

Microsoft kills the KIN Phone, focuses on Windows Phone 7

Microsoft is killing the Kin social phones they just unveiled two month ago. Gizmodo reports that their sources tell them that Microsoft is ending the Kin project and rolls the Kin team into the Windows phone 7 team.
A couple days ago Verizon slashed the price of the Kin handsets, but that will not help much now.
