Sigh. There's some gossip on the Internet of photos and specs for a Nokia X2-01, which is a lot like the Nokia C3, but it's obviously positioned even lower. Yes, we're as confused as the rest of you.
Anyway, the Nokia X2-01 is an S40 phone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard that is indeed very similar to the Nokia C3. It's 2G-only, with 2.44" QVGA landscape screen (not a touchscreen like the C3-01), microSD card slot, FM radio and Bluetooth.
Nokia X2-01 looks a lot like the Nokia C3
The camera has grown to 3MP (C3 had a 2MP snapper) and yet there's no mention of Wi-Fi (which the C3 did have). The Nokia X2-01 has two dedicated keys - one for music and one for messaging.
Of course, those are rumored specs and the official specs might be different. But the C3 is already dirt cheap, how much cheaper can the X2-01 be with the Wi-Fi module taken out?
Anyway, we'll have to wait for the official specs to confirm all this info about the X2-01.
Sony Ericsson might have dropped from the top five manufacturer list but their XPERIA X10 flagship is back near the top of the smartphone food chain. The Eclair update took a while but it’s finally here and it brought HD video along so the wait might have been worth it.
And now we are giving you the chance to see both of those new XPERIA X10 perks through a couple of short videos
Leading companies are said to announce their first Chrome-powered smartbooks later in November 2010. But what is even more exciting, word is Google is about to present its own notebook based on the Chrome operating system as well.
iSuppli has tore down the Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab and found 205.22 US dollars worth of components (around 147 euro) inside it and estimated assembling costs some extra 9.37 USD. That’s just over 30% cheaper than a 3G 16GB iPad, and much less than what it costs to the end user…
Sony Ericsson talks more about the XPERIA X10 Eclair update, we give it a spin
The long awaited Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 update that takes the flagship to Android 2.1 Eclair is already being distributed as we speak. However it seems that a good portion of the users had some issues or questions about the update process so the company R&D team conducted an impromptu Q&A session in their blog.
Apparently the exact launch dates for the update in each region are still unknown, but if you happen to live in the Nordic region, Russia, Singapore, Indonesia or most of Africa you should already have access to the update. And the troubles Scandinavian users had with the Android market yesterday were caused by the Google servers and not by the update.
Don’t give up on the Symbian gaming just yet. Gameloft just launched five games for the latest Symbian^3 platform – Asphalt 5 HD, Avatar HD, Hero of Sparta HD, Guitar Rock Tour 2 HD and GT: Racing Motor Academy HD.
The London-based company CrystalRoc is known for its passion for encrusting various gadgets with Swarovski crystals. This time their “victim” is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. CrystalRoc covered its back with a total of 5700 crystals and are launching it tomorrow, on 1 November.
Okay someone had to step up and say it – Nokia’s new naming convention is a total failure. And I’m not talking about some minor setback here – it’s a full-scale epic fail.
Now I’m not saying they did that on purpose – their intentions probably looked good on paper. Place a letter in front to indicate series affiliation and follow it by the number showing the device’s place in its own series pecking order. Great idea, right – keep it nice and simple?
Mount Everest in Nepal now has 3G coverage, allowing hikers and tourists to use mobile internet and make cheaper cellular calls. The only possible connection until now was via expensive satellite phones.
I thought the only Windows Phone 7 device going to offer a microSD slot is the Samsung Focus. But there is a real possibility many of the currently announced WP7 smartphones sport an expansion slot, it just may be hidden.
As it turns out, the HTC HD7 has a sealed microSD slot right next to its SIM bed. And it’s not empty at all – there is an 8GB microSD card in it.
We’re getting ready to review the Nokia C7, so this caught our interest – the lead designer of the C7 talking about the process he went through. It’s interesting to see what goes on on the other side – how those phones that we’re reviewing get to be the way they are?
