HTC goes all in with 7 Surround, HD7, 7 Trophy, and 7 Mozart
HTC was the biggest player in the Windows Mobile game and they plan on staying at top in the age of Windows Phone too. The Taiwanese company announced no less than 4 WP7 devices today, all of which will be available in time for the holiday season.
HTC HD7
Probably the most interesting of the bunch is the HTC HD7, which leaked earlier today. Coming with a 4.3" WVGA screen and a 1GHz CPU, it's basically an HD2 with a different OS. The rest of its key features include a 5-megapixel camera, capable of 720p video recording, 16GB of internal storage and a kickstand on the back.
The available RAM stands at the very impressive 576 MB, while the connectivity options include anything from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi 820.11 n. Even the hefty weight of 162 grams can't turn us off the HTC HD7.
The HTC HD7 will be available thought T-Mobile in the US, while in Europe O2 and Movistar should get it. SingTel should be the first Asian carrier to get the phone.
HTC 7 Surround
Moving on to the HTC 7 Surround, we see a funky sliding out speaker and another 5 MP shooter, capable of doing 720 video. Come to think of it, the only thing that sets the HTC 7 Surround apart from the HD7 is the smaller (but definitely not small) 3.8" display. Not that we could have expected great variation given the insanely high minimum requirements of WP7.
The HTC 7 Surround will come to AT&T in the US for 200 bucks on a contract, while Telus will distribute it in Canada at an yet unspecified price. No word on European availability yet.
HTC 7 Mozart
The HTC 7 Mozart comes with the best snapper of the WP7 gang. It is able to capture 8 megapixel stills, HD video and has a xenon flash to assist its low-light capabilities. The 7 Mozart also packs an exquisite aluminum unibody, which will potentially attract a lot of customers.
A 3.7" WVGA LCD screen and a slim 11.9mm waistline are the other key features of the 7 Mozart. Its internal storage is limited to 8GB, though.
The HTC 7 Mozart will hit Europe though Orange and Deutsche Telecom, while Telestra should offer it down under.
HTC 7 Trophy
The final HTC announcement for today is the 7 Trophy. It should be the most affordable of the bunch, though the Taiwanese company hasn't revealed any details just yet. Its WVGA LCD touchscreen measures 3.8", while its camera does 720p videos and 5 megapixel stills.
The HTC 7 Trophy will arrive to SFR and Vodafone in Europe and Australia.
HTC also has plans of releasing a fifth WP7 phone - the hardware QWERTY-rocking HTC 7 Pro. Unfortunately that will only come in CDMA flavor and won't see daylight until next year.
LG unveils the Optimus 7 and the QWERTY-fied Optimus 7Q
If you happen to have missed that, today is the Windows Phone 7 day. And the first new phones have already started surfacing in their full glory. Now, meet the LG Optimus 7 and the Optimus 7Q, the company's first WP7-driven smartphones.
This isn't the first time we see the Optimus 7, but now we can finally get the answers of all questions concerning the upcoming phone. The LG Optimus 7Q on the other hand shows up for the first time.
Underneath the Windows Phone 7 platform you'll find some LG-specific features including the DLNA-based Play To, Voice-to-Text and Augmented Reality. All of them can be easily accessed through integrated Hubs or as Live Tiles on the homescreen.
Play To is nothing more than DLNA-based sharing of multimedia content accessible for compatible devices. The Voice-to-Text feature lets you write emails, messages, notes or Facebook and Twitter updates by only using your voice where speech is automatically transcribed to text.
As for the Augmented Reality, it makes its way to the Optimus 7 through the Scansearch application, which allows users to get real-time information on diverse matters such as shopping, entertainment, banking, weather, etc.
On top of that the LG Optimus 7 packs a 3.8" capacitive WVGA touchscreen while the Optimus 7Q comes with a hardware QWERTY keyboard and a 3.5” capacitive WVGA display. Both of the also come with 5MP autofocus sharpshooters with Panoramic Mode for 360-degree shots as well as 720p HD video recording and standard 3.5mm audio jacks.
The two devices are powered by fast Snapdragon processors and 1500mAh batteries. Also on board there is 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 16GB of on-board storage and support for HSPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Of course, the newly announced LG Optimus 7 and Optimus 7Q will also grant you access to services such as Xbox LIVE and Zune as well as to all applications made for the new Windows Phone 7 OS.
The happy couple is expected to start selling in more than 35 countries across Europe and Asia on 21 October 2010 but there is no word from LG on their prices.
Confirmed: HTC Schubert is HD7, first press photo emerges
There are only a few hours left before Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 announcement and the WP7 phones are already flying from all sides. One of these is the HTC HD7 with its first official press photo.
HTC HD7 or Schubert has been previously known as HD3 and whatnot and it looks exactly how we saw it on the live shots three weeks ago. The device has a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen and packs 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 576MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 720p video recording, all-round connectivity and 8GB internal storage. The T-Mobile version of HD7 is expected to double the on-board memory to 16GB.
HTC HD7/Schubert is expected to be announced very soon, perhaps today, and is rumored to hit the T-Mobile network for 200 US dollars on two-year contract.
Sony Ericsson LiveView to come in November for 69 euro
We’ve got some good news for those of you waiting for the Sony Ericsson LiveView. Apparently the device will come as early as next month and will be priced at the very reasonable 69 euro (96 US dollars).
The tiny accessory that can be worn as watch was announced a couple of weeks ago but those important details weren’t mentioned at the time. Now you can rest assured that it will neither take too long to appear, nor cost an arm and a leg. There are even rumors that its price will be as low as 59 euro, which translates to 82 dollars.
We guess this is all good news for the XPERIA owners too. Since the LiveView is only compatible with handsets running Android 2.0 or later, so Sony Ericsson should have pushed the Éclair update to their Android lineup by November or customers will have to get a competitor’s phone to use it.

Disregarding the dumb part of your comment, i forgot to mention that this has nothing to do with video recording. Its only about taking pictures. S8500's video recording is way better than 723's
