Asus has just unveiled more details on its designer U series notebooks that some might even say that it resembles the MacBook Air from certain angles.
These new notebooks in question are the 12″ U20A, 13.3″ UX30 and the 15.6″ UX50V which are all powered by Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage (CULV) processor that range from 1.2GHz to 1.6GHz in speed. These won’t cause a bulge in your bag whenever you travel with them since they won’t be more than 1.2″ thick at their fattest point, with the UX30 being the thinnest at 0.9″ across its length while tipping the scales at a shoulder-friendly 3.5 pounds - although you do lose the functionality of a DVD burner. All models will come with 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a LED-backlit screen, up to 500GB hard drives and a maximum of 4GB RAM.
Panasonic GH1 has a price of $1499
When Panasonic announced its video-capable follow up to its Lumix DMC-G1 interchangeable-lens camera (sometimes referred to as a “hybrid,”) at PMA in February, the DMC-GH1, the company coyly left out any mention of pricing. Although it shipped several weeks ago in Asia and I dutifully did the exchange rate conversions, I really didn’t want to believe that it was going to cost $1,499.

Sprint HTC Snap S511
With the recent deluge of iPhone and Palm Pre news, it’s not too surprising that many of you have forgotten about some of the devices from HTC, one of them which is the HTC Snap. It seems that the device will be dubbed the HTC Snap S511, and Sprint is reportedly testing the device, indicating that it might be launched by mid-Summer. Of course, there is no confirmation of such a timeline, but keep your fingers crossed, and who knows, maybe we’ll see the phone released real soon.
Samsung Trance
This week Samsung’s Trance made an entrance into the list of the top music phones. With Bang & Olufsen’s ICEPower technology, the Trance also has 3D sound effects that provide wide, dynamic, and surround sound.
All that and the Trance is pretty easy on the eyes as well, with a silhouette like that of a violin’s, and a lovely glossy piano black surface. We even liked the touch-sensitive navigation, though we would’ve preferred a more tactile experience. It also has stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5-mm headset jack, which are great to have on a music phone. Our only gripe is that the Trance does not offer EV-DO, and therefore does not allow over-the-air download of music via V Cast Music. The only way to get music onto it is via a USB cable to the PC. But for only $49.99 with a two-year service agreement, that’s not too bad.

Having recently talked about Current Cost’s latest energy efficiency monitor system, the ENVI, we’d just like to post some photos of the one which we received just before the weekend. If you’re from the UK, you will know that our government highly recommends the use of monitors like these in every household. Though the ENVI only monitors electricity and not a combination of both power and gas, we’re keen on testing it out over the next few days and provide you with some of our thoughts on what its like.
Having achieved the world’s smallest PC title with the first generation Fit-PC, CompuLab have been making good progress with its second gen Fit-PC2. This time, the Fit-PC2 has been boasted with Intel’s Atom processor, making it another Acer Aspire Revo competitor. As you can imagine, the latest Fit-PC2 carries on with its predeccesor’s tiny build. Equipped with Atom Z530 1.6GHz or Z510 1.1GHz processor and Intel’s US15W SCH chipset as well as GMA500 integrated graphics.
The Fit-PC2 has 1GB of RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive bay and a miniSD card slot. Also included is a HDMI HD output port. Connectivity wise, the Fit-PC2 isn’t bad at all. Although I’m not certain how many will Apple fans will appreciate and support this idea but it seems Hardmac, the English-language version of France’s MacBidouille thinks the iPhone maker will soon be putting up a new line up of iPod Touch and iPod Nano players later this September with a camera like that of the iPhone.
Yes a camera can be handy from time to time, but this isn’t really a function thats popular among portable music players. You can also argue that there aren’t many users with iPods that don’t also have a mobile phone with a camera.
Got a spare netbook and some spare time? If you’ve been hooked up into the latest trend of downloading Windows 7 RC and testing it out, then it looks like here’s an opportunity to do the same, but on your netbook. John from Gizmodo has written a nice post on how you can install the recently released Windows 7 RC on just about any netbook.
The main problem encountered so far has been the fact that netbooks don’t have a disc drive and their small capacity SSDs don’t offer much help neither. The solution you’ll see if you hit the link below is that you’ll need to boot from a USB drive of at least 4GB of free memory and do make sure that your netbook has at least 8GB free from its SSD!
[via Gizmodo]
By the way, you’ll need to have already downloaded a copy of Windows 7 RC before you can begin!
We’re very jealous, the folks over at Pocket-Lint recently got to play with the Acer Aspire Revo nettop which should already be out in the shops near you (since 5th of May). The Aspire Revo nettop is unique as its one of the first of its class to be equipped with new Nvidia ION chips allowing its Intel Atom powered core to display 1080p footage as well as playing games in 3D.
As you will see in the pictures, if you opt for the third option with a pricetag of £299.99 (options here). You’ll get to mount your Aspire Revo onto the back of your PC monitor using its VESTA mount and receive a wireless bar shaped game pad (will cost about £50 on its own) which looks much like that of the Wii’s.

This is definitely the world’s first. The Spanish technology company iUnika announced last week a series of lightweight and eco-friendly netbooks. While it must be admitted that these are not suited for those keen on gaming, the GYY netbooks would just about do everything else the average user requires.
To hit the European market this summer, in June. The netbooks come with a low energy demanding 400MHz CPU, 128MB of RAM, an 8-inch screen a max resolution of 800×400 and a 64GB SSD drive. Although the iUnika GYY netbooks don’t seem to be capable of pushing out much juice, one thing is for sure, it does have quite a large capacity of memory for a netbook.
We will still need to confirm whether this will be a Japan exclusive. But for 398,000 Yen (that’s €3080, £2758 or $4180) the latest in technology 19.5mm x 25.5mm Toshiba Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ sports a Core 2 Duo SU9400 (1.40GHz) processor, 3GB of RAM, Intel GS45 Express, DVD Super Multi and a 12.1” WXGA LCD and a 512 GB SSD (may be that’s what the price is for?). Of course, along with this price tag you will also get WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, etc. According to Toshiba, this massive 512 GB SSD runs eight times faster than a 5400rmp 2.5” HDD.
Designed for phones like the iPhone, iPod Touch and other popular mobiles like BlackBerrys, the iZel cell phone stand is a multifunctional mobile phone stand. Great for supporting landscape and portrait mode, just snap here and snap there and you’ve got a stand in seconds. Though the iZel is made of grippy material, it still looks as if the iPhone in the video can easily fall off, thus I’m not too convinced in that respect.
Relaxation, something needed to fight the daily stress we face. This is no ordinary TV, and this is no ordinary Bathtub.
I have to get myself one of these, there is nothing like sitting in one of these after a hard day of typing. Watch your favorite Shows or movies, and at the same time feel the water massage your feet.
It is called the PLC-WXU700, and as mention in the tittle it is the worlds first Wi-Fi LCD Projector. It features LAN port,USB connectivity,500:1 contrast ratio, HDMI, WXGA resolution,3,800 lumens brightness, D-sub, S-Video, and Composite inputs.
The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD has finally arrived in the UK. The Samung i8910 release date has come.

Yet to be confirmed by Apple is the Next Generation iPhone 4G. The next generation iPhone is set to be released on July 17 if all goes well.
This is not something Apple has confirmed but a source that is real close to the Apple hardware team has revealed some specs and a release date. Some rumors at the end, end up being true most of the time but not always.
Here is the latest M-series digital camera from Kodak. You also have your choice of 4 colors to choose from.
For those who like to collect not your ordinary USB drives here is one, that beside transfering you info will decorate your desk.
It is finally official, the Pal Pre release date and the Palm Pre price as well. You will have access to a lot of goodies.
It is official everyone! The Palm Pre will be available nationwide on June 6th. Sprint announced it today and that it will be available at Best Buy, Radio Shack, and select Wal-Mart stores. It will be on sale for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a two-year contract on Sprint’s Everything Data plan or Business Essentials with Messaging and Data plan.
For some, it is what they expected but for others it is a complete disappointment. In a recent review, lets say the Digma DP2 was showered with not so nice comments for the reason you will red later on. The Sigma DP2 has received its review and this is what was said. It was commented that the Sigma DP2 was frustrating to use and that you have to tweak it manually a lot.
In order to make those tweaks, it is not going to be an easy task, you have to wonder through a mire of confusing menus in order to complete your mission. It also has low light quality and it´s LCD does not compare to other other less expensive compact cameras and not to mention that there is no AF assist lamp.
Here is the Nokia N97 NAM release date and the price, something we have all been waiting for.
You now have the opportunity to be the proud owner of a Netbook that features a mini Blue-ray drive.
Specifications for The Aspire One 571
What usually happens when something is new is that little info is known until we get closer to the release date. That is the case with this Netbook, The Aspire One 571, that features the all new Vmedia’s optical drive for reading tiny Blu-ray discs with a diameter of only 32mm and a capacity of 1GB.
